2) Which noted institute of the country is expected to be re-named as the Institute of Governance Professionals of India (IGPI), as reported in the media reports of 8 November, 2013? - The Institute of Company Secretaries of India – ICSI (The ICSI aspiration of rebranding the profession as “governance professional’’ instead of “company secretaries” got impetus on 7 November, 2013 with Corporate Affairs Minister Sachin Pilot agreeing to pilot a Bill for this purpose in Parliament. This proposed re-christening of ICSI would be in line with the institute’s recent aspiration to elevate its members from being compliance officers to governance professionals. The name change is, however, subject to a new law getting enacted by Parliament)
